I wish I read at least one of the best sports betting books ten years ago. That was when I placed my first bet with a friend on an English Premier League match. The bet was for a pack of Bud Light.
Nowadays, I occasionally place a bet on a Sunday match with my close friends or colleagues from work. We are not gamblers but rather sport enthusiasts. We like to place a small bet to increase excitement during a game.

1. Sharp Sports Betting by Stanford Wong (2001-09-06) Paperback – 1783
Sharp Sports Betting is a nice overview of sports gambling with a heavy emphasis on American football. It is one of the older books in this list but it is still valuable for today bettors. There is a recurring emphasis on mathematics, which any solid gambling book should have.
2. The Logic Of Sports Betting Paperback – May 17, 2019
The Logic of Sports Betting teaches concepts of how to win. In addition to the process, this book teaches about the markets. The authors explain how the business actually works from the bookmaker’s and bettor’s point of view.

4. Fixed Odds Sports Betting: Statistical Forecasting and Risk Management Paperback – December 1, 2003
Fixed Odds Sports Betting helps you identify ‘value’ bets. It does not show you a particular system to follow but rather encourage you to find a system that works for you. It is definitely a must have book for any serious bettors out there.
5. The Man With the $100,000 Breasts And Other Gambling Stories Hardcover – June 1, 1999
This book was ranked #2 on the Wall Street Journal’s list of the 5 best books on gambling.
